gorgeous but pricey, best known for the DC version of power breakfast (

Excellent Indian food,
reasonably priced. From the hotel, cross 15th St and walk 1 block
south to M St, 3 blocks west on M, turn right onto Connecticut Ave, north for
roughly 2+ blocks (diagonal blocks are weirdly spaced), it’s past N St and if
you get to the circle you’ve gone too far.

Cheap and cheerful comfort
food. I have a friend who lives on their tomato soup and sweet potato fries.

Archetypal red sauce Italian
joint, lots of perfectly fine pasta for not much money, a favorite cheap date

tasty pan-Asian food; not expensive. On the west (left) side of 14th
between Q and Corcoran.
Bar Pilar
Tiny,
charming, really good tapas bar. On the east (right) side of 14th
between S and T Streets (DC’s official too chic block).

Local
institution, the upstairs restaurant is usually crowded, but the food is quite
decent although not cheap. Downstairs
club is always noisy and packed with 20somethings; live DJ every night. On the
corner of 14th and T.

it might be interesting, ambience targets the young, hip crackberry crowd.
