DC Weekend Schedule

HOTEL GROUP-UP is 30 minutes before skates leave the White
House. GROUP-UP is in front of the National City Christian Church on the
corner of Massachusetts Ave and 14th Street (go left at the hotel
driveway). The skate leaves the group-up area 15 minutes before the official skate time – please be on time!
Skate leaders will skate you to the White House - please be cautious and skate
single file to avoid pile ups.
Skate along the
Do an
after-dinner skate through city neighborhoods and see some DC nightlife. Distance = 8 miles
9:30 am HOTEL GROUP-UP
10:00 am Wilson Bridge Skate Leaves White House
(Intermediate/Advanced, 5 hours including lunch)
Last year we had two
water crossings, but this year we only have land to skate! Skate down the DC/Maryland side of the
Potomac River and take in the panoramic view from Washington’s coolest skate
path across the Wilson Bridge. After
lunch at Old Town Alexandria, skate back to town or hop on the Metro. Sandals
or flip-flops mandatory for lunch! $2 per skater covers water/Gatorade for one
provided rest stop. For those
returning by Metro, the fare is $1.95. Distance = 15 miles first half only, 24 miles entire
skate
4:30 pm HOTEL GROUP-UP
5:00 pm Hill Skate Leaves White House
(Intermediate/Advanced, fast with – you guessed it – lots of hills, 1.5 hours)
For those who
just can’t get enough hills or who really want to earn their beer. Distance
= 10-12 miles
8:00pm National Beer Patrol presents House of
Brews, location in the hotel will
be made obvious.
8:45 am HOTEL GROUP-UP
9:15 am Breakfast Slalom Skate Leaves White House
(Intermediate, 2 hours)
Enjoy a skate which will include
a Slalom Skating Demonstration at Georgetown Waterfront Park, a tour through
the George Washington
University campus, several creek and canal bridge crossings, and a jaunt
through the scenic hills of Georgetown. We will return to the hotel in time to
shower and check out. Distance = 7 miles

12:30 pm HOTEL GROUP-UP
1:00 pm Final Skate of the Weekend Leaves White
House (Advanced, 3 hours)
A brisk and
hilly skate through parts of DC you may have missed on the other skates. Distance = 18 miles
